Our estate offering gites at Le Bercail de Montmirail is ideally located in the Vaucluse, in the charming village of Sarrians. You will enjoy strolling around the village square, with its cafes and fountains. You will stay in the heart of the vineyards, in an exceptional setting. You will easily radiate throughout the region to discover the most beautiful cities, the most beautiful viewpoints and the most fascinating points of interest: the Dentelles de Montmirail, the Provençal markets, the Monts de Vaucluse, Avignon, the wine routes and many others. Adventure or idleness, relaxation or discovery, can be on the program for your expeditions with family, friends or as a couple.
Avignon
A few kilometers from the Bercail de Montmirail, you can explore the city of Avignon. In the heart of the city, you will appreciate the various monuments such as the Pont d'Avignon, the Palais des Papes, the cathedral and the Rocher des Doms. Each year, one of the most important theater events takes place in Avignon.
Orange
The city of Orange is full of vestiges of another era, to discover. Among the most unmissable monuments, we recommend that you visit the ancient theater, the triumphal arch and the Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth Cathedral. It is on the Saint-Eutrope hill that you will enjoy strolling through a forest in the heart of the city.
Vaison-la-Romaine
Vaison-la-Romaine is an open-air museum. Visits to numerous monuments and exceptional places will be on the program of your expedition to Vaison la Romaine: the archaeological sites of Puymin and Villasse, the Saint-Quenin chapel, the Ancient Theater, the Roman Bridge and the garden of the nine Damoiselles .
Local markets
Start each day of your Provence expedition at one of the Provencal markets. Awaken your senses and your taste buds to the specialties of the region: spices, sun-kissed vegetables, fruits and lavender. We recommend the markets of Carpentras, Valréas, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Malaucène and Vaison-la-Romaine.
The wine estates
Around our cottages at Bercail de Montmirail, you will find many wine estates such as Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise, Gigondas or Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Take one of the region's many wine routes and take part in a tasting.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
L'Isle sur la Sorgue is known for its many second-hand and antique dealers' stalls. It is a real paradise for bargain hunters and antique enthusiasts. Walk around one of the 6 antique villages of the city, bringing together more than 300 professionals.
The villages of the Luberon
The Luberon Regional Natural Park is known and renowned for sheltering a large number of hilltop and exceptional villages. We particularly recommend that you discover Gordes, Oppède-le-Vieux, Lacoste or Roussillon. The latter will surprise you with its flamboyant colors and its Ocher trail.
